Welcome to Karoo Angus
Karoo Angus Stud is located 32kms East of Bathurst on the Central Tablelands of New South Wales.
Karoo Angus is a family owned and operated business, currently run by John Reen and his daughter Annie Scott. Our cow herd consists of approximately 300 registered Angus females and 800 commercial females. An inspection of our herd is welcome anytime.
Karoo Angus has been associated with the Angus seedstock industry for over 30 years, and our aim has, and always will be, to breed cattle with balance, consistency and quality. Our herd is based upon females that have capacity, fertility and the fundamental commercial traits, and we place emphasis on consistency, strength of body and fleshing. It is important to us that we produce sound, functional cattle that go on to have long, productive lives.
This selection criteria has resulted in benefits that flow on to commercial producers, with Karoo-bred lines of cattle being highly sought-after and attracting premiums in the marketplace. We breed bulls to suit both domestic and export markets and as such are not a “one trait” supplier of quality stock. We aim at annually improving our herd’s performance so we know our clients are achieving the same.
